  • Open Level Pre-Requisites:

    • Whether students are advanced or not, drilling technique is great for building mind-body connection and creating a learning and execution pace that makes sense for your personal body.

    • Starting from the floor or from foundational movement gives your muscles a chance to build a memory around a certain technique that can otherwise be skipped over when we get eager to try new things.

    • Everybody is different, what is beginner or advanced for one person will not be the same for another, this is the main reason I structure my classes as open level.

    • We will always work in progressions, because even if you are advanced the body wakes up slightly different each day and what worked for you yesterday may not work for you today, vice-versa.

    Intermediate Level Pre-Requisites:

    • Aerial Classes: A strong climb technique, a comfortable pole sit, a strong ability to lower into an outside leg hook and a strong figure head/hood ornament.

    • Low Flow/Heels Classes: Pirouettes, true, twisted, split grip and coming onto the balls of the feet or toe boxes.

MAY ONLINE WORKSHOP SERIES

(4 week series) Saturdays + 1 Sunday in May, 11:00am PST/2:00pm EST

May 9th: anatomy of the heel: inside, outside edge and stiletto (purchase recording)
May 16th: weight shifts + hip rotations = glides
May 23rd: waves as transitions
May 24th (sunday): edge-work pirouettes

This workshop series will be held online over Zoom.

This series builds on the foundations of edge work through awareness, control, and articulation. Using both bare feet and heels, students will explore how to merge the mind-body connection through drills that engage and dissect the rotation, activation, and micro-muscles of the foot. We’ll move through three key concepts and elements to understand how the floor becomes both resistance and release, learning to carve pathways and pivot through transitions.
