  • Open Level Pre-Requisites:

    • Whether students are advanced or not, drilling technique is great for building mind-body connection and creating a learning and execution pace that makes sense for your personal body.

    • Starting from the floor or from foundational movement gives your muscles a chance to build a memory around a certain technique that can otherwise be skipped over when we get eager to try new things.

    • Everybody is different, what is beginner or advanced for one person will not be the same for another, this is the main reason I structure my classes as open level.

    • We will always work in progressions, because even if you are advanced the body wakes up slightly different each day and what worked for you yesterday may not work for you today, vice-versa.

    Intermediate Level Pre-Requisites:

    • Aerial Classes: A strong climb technique, a comfortable pole sit, a strong ability to lower into an outside leg hook and a strong figure head/hood ornament.

    • Low Flow/Heels Classes: Pirouettes, true, twisted, split grip and coming onto the balls of the feet or toe boxes.

This workshop will be held online over Zoom.

This four week series is structured around these four elements. Each session begins with a guided warm up that targets the primary muscle groups used on the pole. We explore how fluidity develops through transitions, reinforce solid fundamentals, and integrate breath work throughout.

The series starts with the mechanics of each move and transition, then progresses toward more layered sequences and a cohesive flow. In the final week we attempt the full sequence with music and close with a freestyle exploration.
