WORKSHOP LEVELS
All workshops are open level unless stated otherwise, which means we will ALWAYS start with the most foundational mechanics and techniques.
-
All workshops are open level (UNLESS STATED OTHERWISE), here’s why:
Whether students are advanced or not, drilling technique is great for building mind-body connection and creating a learning and execution pace that makes sense for your personal body.
Starting from the floor or from foundational movement gives your muscles a chance to build a memory around a certain technique that can otherwise be skipped over when we get eager to try new things.
Everybody is different, what is beginner or advanced for one person will not be the same for another, this is the main reason I structure my classes as open level.
We will always work in progressions, because even if you are advanced the body wakes up slightly different each day and what worked for you yesterday may not work for you today, vice-versa.

Toni Walker is an international movement artist and instructor based in Brooklyn, New York. With over 17 years of experience in freestyle movement and 8 years in pole dance, her practice lives in the space between the tangible and intangible—where gesture meets language, and sensation becomes form.
Deeply influenced by intimacy and sensuality in its broadest sense, Toni’s work explores how words move through the body, how risk creates innovation, and how constraint can expand expression. Through improvisation, sound, and cross-disciplinary collaboration, she invites audiences into layered, intimate experiences that blur the lines between performance and presence.
Toni walker has been a certified pole dance instructor since 2019 and is CPR certified.
